Methods of Investigation of Mycotoxicoses in Ecotoxicology

Abstract

The author reviewed the mycotoxicosis in people and animals from the first suspected and/or diagnosed diseases to the newest ones through the description of evolution of the process and methods for the determination and diagnosis. Modern methods for determination of mycotoxins and the complete proceeding from the determination of moldiness of the substrate are cited, through the isolation of causal molds, toxinogenicity of isolates, determinations of their metabolites and their effects on various substrates, determination of LD 50 and other effects on various models in biological tests. Then an epicritical discussion on some diseases still suspected as mycotoxicosis is given, why mycotoxins are not chemically yet determined, neither biological effects proved.
