Abstract

Dermatophytes flora in city Sarajevo is dramatically changed. In the period November 1997 - January 2001 M. canis dominated with 73,79 % of ali isolates, followed by T. mentagrophytes var. granulosum and E. floccosum (13,10 % and 6,20 %). T. violaceum, T. schoenleini and T. tonsurans were isolated very rare (1,37 % and 0,34 %),although dominated in previous years and especially on areas of endemic dermatophytosis. The population in Sarajevo is changed due to the war and immigration of population from the regions of treated regions of endemic dermatophytosis.
