Dr. Iman Hafizi-Rastani received his B.Sc. in statistics in 2008. He continued his studies at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and received MS degree in biostatistics in 2013. In his master's thesis in the field of soft computing in a hybrid method, he predicted the prognosis of brain trauma patients by combining decision tree and neural network. His research interests are: clinical trials, systematic reviews, data mining, machine learning, latent class variables, longitudinal data and survival analysis. After getting acquainted with medical journalism, he has become a methodological and statistical advisor and reviewer of a number of medical peer-reviewed journals.

He is also a part-time lecturer at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences teaching biostatistics, research methodology, scientific writing and peer review. Dr. Hafizi is currently a doctoral candidate in biostatistics at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and working as a statistical consultant in his own office. At the same time, he is working as statistical analyst/consultant and planner in the petroleum industry health organization.
