The Approach to Well Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma

A series of 155 patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma was followed up at the Institute for Nuclear Medicine in Sarajevo. After excluding the dead (4 patients) and dropouts (35 patients), 116 patients (57 with follicular and 59 with papillary carcinoma according to the WHO classification) remained under control. The period from surgery to the last control examination at the Institute varied from 40 to 1 year. The patients were classified and analysed according to histological findings and therapy. Our diagnostic. therapeutic and follow up standpoints were presented and confronted with the newest literature data.
