Abstract

The authors made recovering follow-up of patients who survived cerebral haemorrhage (60 patients), in comparison to certain parameters, noticed while admission to the Clinic, during the 24 hours after the stroke. Outcome of the disease was divided into the three categories: without deficit, mild deficit (hemiparesis), severe deficit (hemiplegia).

Statistical analysis, on the level of significance p < 0,05 showed the following facts: size of haematoma (cerebral haematoma over 5 cm), localisation of haematoma (localised basally), as well as the degree of deficit (severe deficit) are very much mutually dependent parameters in relation to the outcome. that is, they are unfavourable factors for the quality of recovering of patients who survived the stroke.

Factors which do not significantly influence the course and outcome of the patients recovering in the early phase would be: the State of consciousness, conjugate deviation of the eyes, early appearance of the extensor plantar reflex, epileptic seizures, pupillary, abnormalities findings, all of this done during the first 24 hours of the disease, and the State of deficit, age, and presence or absence of hypertension, hyperazotemia or diabetes.
