The Effect of Digestants and Autocoids on Gastric Motility (Studies in Vitro)

The isolated stomach of rats and mice that contract on the extrinsic nerve stimulation were used to study the effect of digestants and autacoids on motor function of the stomach. Pepsin, trypsin and HC1 increased tonus more effectively when applied on serose then on mucose side of stomach. Prostaglandins increased the tonus. The most effective was PGE1 it was active applied on mucose side, also. Tetragastrin cerulein and histamine were ineffective or effective in great concentration only. Spastic effect of different substances is not in the same direction on the secretion of stomach.
